I like to play MMO(s) but at the moment I am just not inspired to play anything. I just created a new WOW account with the hopes to finally make it from level 1 to level 80, but I seem to maybe play it 2 hours a week if I am lucky. Anyway because I started playing again “kinda” this comic came to mind.
EVE Online player steals $45,000 worth of ISK in massive investment scam
September 13th, 2010 | by Jacob KernIt seems like every few months we hear about another major theft or scam in EVE Online. In most MMOs, acts of theft could earn the perpetrator a permanent game ban. In EVE Online, however, it’s an accepted part of the game that people are strongly encouraged to protect themselves from. Even the game’s developers have acknowledged that corporate infiltration, scamming and theft are just another part of the harsh criminal underworld of New Eden. With its latest official game trailer, CCP Games told an impressive tale of corporate theft and revenge, showcasing some of the emergent gameplay that typifies EVE.
Last week, the latest big scam to come out of the criminal underworld of New Eden came to completion. The popular investment scheme Titans4U turned bad, with the creator “Bad Bobby” stealing all of the company’s assets. The theft was the ultimate conclusion of a plan that was set in motion years ago. Bobby began his investment career by running several smaller schemes to build up a positive public image. Over the years, he ran increasingly larger and more popular schemes and always returned on investments. Just over a year ago, his reputation-building efforts paid off as his good name secured the successful launch of the massive Titans4U investment fund.
One of the first stops on Joaquin Phoenix’s “I’m done with acting” tour was David Letterman’s “Late Show” on Feb. 11, 2009. The appearance was among the most awkward in Letterman history and now, a return to Letterman’s lair is official. Phoenix is booked for the Sept. 22 show to promote his film, “I’m Still Here.” This announcement, of course, is a great excuse to call up the 2009 interview. Enjoy.
“Hereafter” tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. George (Matt Damon) is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cecile De France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might—or must—exist in the hereafter.
Arkansas’ athletic teams have not always been called the Razorbacks. During the early years of its athletic history, the Cardinal served as the University nickname.
A lot of things changed in 1909, however, when Arkansas football coach Hugo Bezdek called his players “a wild band of Razorback hogs,” after guiding his team to a 16-0 victory over Louisiana State on October 30, 1909.
Alluding to the Razorback, characterized by a ridge back and tenacious, wild fighting ability, Bezdek never forgot this idea and often called his team “a fighting band of Razorbacks.” This new nickname became increasingly popular and the student body voted to change the official University mascot from the Cardinal to the Razorbacks in 1910.
In the 1920s, “Wooo, Pig, Sooie” was added as the school yell, referred to more commonly as the “Hog Call.”
There are dozens of Lions, Tigers and Bears, but in all of college athletics there is only one Razorback. The distinctive logo of the Arkansas teams is officially known as the Profile Hog, but is known to many fans as the Helmet Hog — a fixture of the football team’s helmet for almost half a century.
We had a great show and Brian Ibbott from coverville.com came on the show and was just an all around cool guy. He really is a great guy and should be known as the Godfather of podcasting. This was also our 50th show and 1 year anniversary.
