I found this list regarding the top 20 star ship captains. What makes it interesting is “WOW” how can one choose. I am obviously a huge Star Wars Fan and Han Solo was a great captain but after going through this list there are so many other people who were just great captains all around.
Take Captain Reynolds of Serenity and how he captained his ship and crew. He was almost a reinvention of Han Solo himself.
However, although I am not as big a fan of Star Trek you can’t deny the presence and demeanor of Captain Kirk it almost goes unsaid when you think of Star Ship captains he has to be at the top of the list.

Aside from that, I think Mal is my favorite fictional character from anything ever.
I voted for Mel also, it was a toss up between Han and Mel, but when it came down to it Mel was the winner.
